Congressman J. Randy Forbes is joining in hosting a free Saving, Planning and Paying for College Workshop in conjunction with The Sallie Mae Fund to be held at Chesapeake City Hall Council Chambers in Chesapeake on Saturday, September 12 at 10:00 a.m. The workshop is open to any student and parent or guardian in the Fourth Congressional District who is interested in gaining information on planning and paying for college. One student will win a $500 scholarship towards the cost of higher education courtesy of The Sallie Mae Fund.

WHAT: |
“Saving, Planning, and Paying for College Workshop.” An interactive workshop to discuss the benefits of a college education and ways to prepare for the college admissions process, including grants and scholarship information. A representative from The Sallie Mae Fund will also discuss state financial aid and the overall financial aid process. Participants will receive free resources for preparing for college and one high school junior or senior will win a $500 Sallie Mae Fund scholarship for college.
